Scope
Identify the surfaces and areas. A wall-only repaint is a different scope from walls, ceilings, trim and doors. Compare the work described, not only a total.
Quote & cost guide
A useful comparison starts with the work behind the number. This guide helps you prepare questions; it does not calculate a price or replace a provider’s assessment.
Six things to make clear
Identify the surfaces and areas. A wall-only repaint is a different scope from walls, ceilings, trim and doors. Compare the work described, not only a total.
Ask what cleaning, repair, sanding or other preparation is proposed, what is excluded, and what would happen if further work is identified.
Discuss height, furniture, fixtures, occupancy and any access restrictions. Confirm how surrounding surfaces and belongings are considered in the plan.
Ask which products, finishes and coats are specified. Confirm how colour or product changes would be handled before assuming they are included.
Describe timing preferences, operating hours and any areas that must stay accessible. Confirm what is practical with the provider.
Understand how a change to the agreed scope is approved and how cleanup, final inspection and any concerns are addressed.
Keep the comparison useful
Ask the provider to identify what is included, what is excluded and what still needs confirmation.
SaskPaint has not published a fixed painting package or a verified rate card. Flor Tel Inc. reviews the enquiry, and the painting provider confirms the actual project and quote separately. A generic number could leave out preparation, access or other work that matters to your project.
Use the project builder to describe the scope. You can begin without exact measurements and identify the details that need follow-up.
A few thoughtful details. A clearer picture of your project.
